Cool poll! I do wanna clarify one of my answers so I don't look like a back-stabbing bitch, lol. The question about the filters for bitching about people...I put yes, but only because I DO have filters that keep one or 2 individuals from seeing certain things, but I don't actually say anything about THEM. Mostly it's if I can't trust them, or like my sister's on my flist and I don't want her to know about all the kinky shit I talk/write about in my lj, lol. But I've been on LJ for about 4 years now, and I think I've only openly bitched about someone on here (not counting those I know in RL, cause that's very different), maybe twice in that whole time. I mostly just use the filters to keep certain people from knowing certain personal things about me, but I never actually talk about them personally.

Thanks for taking the poll and replying :)

I can totally understand where you're coming from. Nobody in my RL knows about my journal or any of my fandom stuff, like comms and message boards etc. I just wouldn't be comfortable with them being able to read my squee'ing and other stuff. I'm sure if they did know about my journal I'd filter them from everything. :)

No problem!! It's always interesting to see what people do and don't do around here and for what reasons. :)

And I actually started on LJ because one of my RL friends told me about it. And for the first year and a half or so, my only friends were people I knew in RL, and all I talked about was my day-to-day boring life, lol. Well, that was a very BAD idea, and I got burned, and quickly learned my lesson. Then when I got into fandom, my journal turned into something VERY different than what it had started out as, lol. But it's always fun to see how both I and it have evolved over time. But I no longer let any of my RL friends see anything in my LJ (minus my sister, for my everday life stuff that she likes to keep up to date on). Besides, I think I'm the only one left who's actually kept up w/ it. Most everyone else has long since abandoned LJ, lol.

Hehe, sorry for the ramble. ;)

*nods* I have never been an open person, I mean sure gushing about fandom stuff I'm all over that, but to write down my feelings for the world to see whether I know them from RL or not, just isn't my thing. I will once in awhile when something is really bothering me but in general, nope. :) I like listening to other peoples problems though *shrugs* I'm the listener in my group of friends. *nods* :) but you do have to be careful because you never know when somebody is going to turn on you, it's happened ot me before both in RL and on LJ but then agian you can be to guarded because you might miss out getting ot know somebody awesome that way.
